Restoring Our Mangroves Muni-Pomadze Ramsar Site

10: 01 mins

This video shows how members from two fishing communities, Warabeba and Nsuakyir have been inspired to restore degraded mangrove areas within the Muni-Pomadze ramsar site in Winneba, Ghana. Over 3,000 mangrove seedlings (Rhizophora stylosa) were planted at degraded sites with support from the Canadian Fund for Local Initiative (CFLI), a funding base helping to restore degraded mangroves within the ramsar site. During 2013-14, A Rocha Ghana worked with over 3,000 people from three adjacent communities to promote conservation and sustainable use of these mangrove resources.
