Empowering Local Communities for Conservation in Ghana

Over the past 10 years, A Rocha Ghana has been working with communities in the Savannah landscapes of Ghana to enhance conservation of their natural resources and also improve their livelihood. The impact of these engagements is acceptance of conservation as providing a win-win situation for conservation and community development. Through the Community Resource Management Area concept, communities are now empowered to undertake initiatives that enhance sustainable management of community resources,improve Natural Resource Management governance and enforcement as well as improve their livelihoods.
