CSOs Call on Government to Halt Illegal Mining in Ghana’s Forest Reserves
The Ghana Civil Society Platform on Sustainable Development Goals -Sub-Platform on SDG 15 has issued a press statement on the International Day of Biodiversity 2020 to call on the Government of Ghana to protect Ghana’s forest reserves from illegal mining activities and to fast track the passage of the Wildlife Resources Management Bill into law.
The Platform called on government to “rededicate and commit to halt the destruction of forest reserves and biological diversity and pursue a development agenda that is founded on nurturing and safeguarding the natural world as an imperative” for life after the Covid-19 pandemic.
