Atewa Campaign Song and Video Launched in Accra

June 1, 2017 marked another important milestone in the campaign to upgrade Atewa Range Forest Reserve into a National. In what may be the first of its kind in Ghana, a team of six (6) all-star entertainment artiste from Ghana and a renowned international green music artiste, Heleen Van Homberg of Green Beats fame, have released Atewa Till Eternity Song and Music Video.

The artistes are Obour, MzVee, Nero-X, SherifaGunu, Eugene Kwame, Kojo Rana, and Heleen from Green Beats in Netherlands. The team worked with passionate percussionist and guitars musicians from Patch Bay Band and DelaBotri.Their music art were brought to life with the beautiful blend and production by hit producer Richy Mensah of Lynx Entertainment.

 

The Music Video which boasts of beautiful sights and sounds of Atewa Forest and the unfortunate threats destroying it was directed by Prince Dovlo.

This video was inspired by the need to draw the minds of people in Ghana and all across the world on the need to secure important water and biodiversity hot spots like Atewa Range Forest. The goal of this inspirational journey and campaign is to secure an upgrade of Atewa Range from a Forest Reserve to a National Park status which will ensure long-term sustainability of this magnificent jewel in the crown of protected areas in Ghana.

Key institutions supporting this campaign and creative work are A Rocha Ghana, the Netherlands Committee of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN-NL), Green Beats, Family Tree Entertainment and the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Ghana.
